Dialogues from the flea market (2021)
Riso-printed illustrations

In the autumn of 2021 I came to Berlin. This time I managed to visit more than in myfirst two short visits. I took the U2 in the early Sunday morning to Berlin's Mauerpark flea market.

I was curious and excited to find myself in a new space of urban environment. For me, the flea market is a place to explore urban history, a journey through artifacts, a place of discovery and loss. Here I follow the changes of the city, exploring artifacts and people, visitors and vendors at the flea market.

For several weeks I visited the market every Sunday, making pencil sketches of everything I saw around me. With the help of my friends, the Berlin locals, I was able to collect everyday dialogues of the vendors and buyers among themselves, which became an important detail of perception and was introduced into the graphics in the form of typographic compositions.
