In fall of 2021 I spoke with ten artists who were conceptualizing public art projects for the northern section of the Schöneberg area of Berlin, an area of town that looks gritty on the surface but which is full of a rich history of war and punks and migration, of loss, community and resilience.

My project combines the reflections of the artists, some who have a deep relationship with the area and others who were discovering the area as a newcomer, along with video documentation of their works set in context and then my own images which I gathered, inspired by the thoughts of the artists, their projects and my own curiosity.

The resulting video shows the area in split screen as a meditation on perception, on how oururban spaces change over time and how the space itself alters by the lens with which we view the space.
